Lamplugh & District Heritage Society

The Society’s monthly meetings are held in the Lamplugh Village Hall on the 4th Tuesday of each month, (commencing at 7.30pm); no meetings are held in August and December.

Tuesday, September 24th – Stephe Cove – Washfolds and Salving – how sheep were prepared for winter and shearing
Tuesday, Octpber 22nd – Author Cliff Ismay on Bruce Ismay – Coward Or Hero of Titanic? The talk will focus on the life of J Bruce Ismay, Chairman of the White Star Line & RMS Titanic’s most infamous survivor. Some of Cumbria’s connections to Titanic will also be featured.
Tuesday, November 26th – Barry McKay – Cumbrian Chapmen: A look at the small books and pamphlets hawked about Cumbria in the 18th and 19th Centuries.
