Women’s Institute

Lamplugh WI meet at Lamplugh Village Hall, 7pm on the second Tuesday of each month with the exception of August.

Lamplugh Womens Institute began the Hall all those years ago and ladies of the WI continue to be a big part of the Hall.

Lamplugh WI has had its ups and downs over the years but presently is growing from strength to strength , today with 44 members , new ones always warmly welcomed. They meet 2nd Tuesday of the month and enjoy a varied program . In addition to the monthly members meetings they enjoy a walking group , book club, lunch club and many other extra activities. Recent ones being canoeing , wild swimming , walking rugby and hockey and several day trips .

The Women’s Institute is famous for its Jam and Jerusalem but Lamplugh WI is much more than that .

The aim of the WI today is much as it was 110 years ago when it was started

‘To create a place where women can come together to learn, share skills and work together to improve lives in their local , national and global communities.

Yep , The WI is definitely a lot more than Jam and Jerusalem but there’s nothing up with a bit of that as well. Come and give it a try.
